With all the success Toyota has achieved in the recent times, the Lexus LFA does not seem to have worked in favor of the company. Four years down the lane, the supercar equipped with a 552-hp V-10 engine seems like a delusion which has failed to make its way to the hearts of supercar lovers.
After years of strategic research and planning, only 500 cars were built by the company, costing $375,000 per car. Built in 2011, Toyota had to shut down the production of Lexus LFA in 2012, as it failed to make good sales for the automaker.
The current stats show only17 sales in the last year which is undeniably slow for a speedster. Factors like high price, no predecessor/successor and zero fan-following contributed for the low sales volume. No doubt, the Lexus LFA has been a huge blow for Toyota.
