Which is the Fastest Car in the World?

If you are a speed junkie and an adrenaline enthusiast, then I have good news for you. In a few moments, you will be enthralled by a guided tour to the world’s fastest car that is quick enough to blow your mind away in a jiffy. So, if you can handle speed in its most electrifying and brutal version, buckle up and let the fun begin!

The Fastest Car

Bugatti Chiron

This beast can be termed as the new kid on the block, but in Bugatti we trust as it is the household name for the world’s fastest car. The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport was the manufacturer’s flagship creation that held the Guinness record for the world’s fastest car by achieving a top speed of 268 mph. The Chiron is the successor to the Veyron, which was discontinued in 2015. Like its predecessor, the Bugatti Chiron will reclaim the top spot of the fastest car in the world, because when it comes to the muscle and pace, it is as good as it can get. According to the automaker, the production version of Chiron has a speed limiter set at 261 mph, but rumors say it could reach to 288 mph to test your heart rate at its maximum.

Bugatti Chiron front

The ride has been named after the legendary Bugatti driver Louis Chiron, who was considered as the world’s fastest driver in the pre Formula One era. The car first made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, and it is slated for launch in fall, as the fastest car in history. Recently, the ride made its US debut at the Quail Motorsports Gathering.

Bugatti had no option but to live up to its name and produce something that can outpace the blockbuster Veyron Super Sport. It seems that the car maker has finally produced their best fastest car. Under the hood, the ride will feature an upgraded quad turbo 8.0 liter W16 gasoline based engine cranking out a staggering 1,479 horsepower and a whooping torque of 1,180 pound feet hooked up to a dual clutch 7-speed  automatic transmission to send power to all the wheels. The power pack is 296 horsepower more than that of the Veyron Super Sport, while the torque upgrade is 74 pound feet, which is impressive.

If we compare the Bugatti hyper car with one of its closest rivals, the Koenigsegg One: 1, the latter features 139 less horsepower with a top speed of 248 mph. However, it is pertinent to add that the Bugatti Chiron is 4,398 pounds heavier than the Swedish hyper car.

The performance numbers of Chiron are also mind blowing. It can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds. The ramp to 124 mph mark will need just 6.5 seconds and the ride can reach 186 mph in just under 13.6 ticks if you dare so that is. Standing alongside the competitors like Lamborghini Centenario and McLaren P1, the 186 mph time is 3 and 1 seconds quicker respectively.

The pricing for Chiron has only been announced for Europe and it equals to about $2.61 million with a production limit of 500 units out of which 150 have already been sold.

In a nutshell, I do sincerely believe that mere words just cannot do justice to the exquisite pleasure and adrenaline pump you would get driving this world’s fastest car. When it comes to that amount of force and power, all I can say, ‘feeling is believing’. If it still doesn’t get you aroused, then what will?
