Many carmakers today are working hard to quickly detect the fault in the vehicles that they have already sold. Toyota, one of the top automakers around the globe has now announced that they are recalling around 185,000 Toyota Yaris and Toyota Vitz models that could possibly have power steering issues.
The auto giant said that they are recalling all the Yaris and Vitz models that were manufactured between November 2010 and March 2012. Explaining more about the recall Toyota revealed that these vehicles could suffer a short circuit in their power steering control module especially if water penetrates deeper into the system.
The automaker said that if that happens the power steering will fail and drivers will have to increase the effort while turning the car. Toyota has also recalled Verso S and Ractis models manufactured between August 2010 and August 2011. The recall will cover 130,000 vehicles in Japan, 22,450 in Europe and only 74 units in the US. The Japanese automaker will email all the owners via email and replace the power steering module for no extra cost.
